I hear those are not very durable, however they do look pretty sweet! I wonder if a person could use nightshade or a similar semi-clear darkening spray paint to achieve a similar effect on a regular grill, might be worth a try!

I have made several... it's easy and wicked cheap.... they come out looking nice too... I think the newer grilles are a little harder to do, or so I've heard, but the c900's are a piece of cake.

You could make your own black pearl grille without too much trouble. It all comes down to getting the paint recipe just right. abduckted did and his grille looks great.

I wonder what sort of warranty goes with the oem pearl grille?

That guy tried selling that grill before. Unless I just saw it before. The reserve is probably insane.

I bought my black pearl grill for a trade of my old chrome grill and 20 dollars. I have seen a lot on ebay resently going for rediculous prices for some reason

the 94-98 ng900 grills are the hard grills to mesh, because the two parts of the grill are basically plastic welded together. the 9-3 grills you can seperate by unclippng some tabs, as long as you dont break them.

I think it took abdukted a while to come up with his "seceret" recipe. but I am sure you could figure it out eventually

Mine is fine. It came with nearly no scratches or anything and already messed. Neadless to say i was impressed about the quality trade and overall cost on my part. I found the item by buying a black pearl license plate cover off of ebay and asked the seller if he had anything to get rid of in black pearl. I also got a set of wooden door pulls off of him for 20

Very cool. I might keep an eye out for one of these over the next few months. Doubt I'll get as good a price as you did, though....

just take a chrome grill and very very lightly spray it with taillight tint. if you can get a lighter color tail tint, lighter than nightshades, you will likely get a more "shiny" result. too much tint and it will really dull the chrome effect and you might as well just paint it solid blaCK.

This is what I am gonna do to my stock grill so i can have a "black chrome" for the winter. no, this is not the secret recipe for my custom summer grill.

I also don't reccomend nite shades because it has a slightly purplish hue.
