Car looks like it needs nothing more than very good mop and polish for the paint; unless there is body damage you did not photoghraph, I would say paint is a waste of money..

no, there isnt any body damage other than a few pings here and there, I called Dave, my body work specialist, and he wants me to bring it over tonight so he can have a look at it. one thing about Dave he is very anal about the condition of cars when they leave his shop, if it aint perfect its not leaving! I need to clear up a couple days so he can work on it and I will post new pics. I doubt it needs a paint job its just that.... I hate red cars, I seem to get pulled over alot more in them! lol

You can get your paint guy to have his paintless dent remover get the dings out.

Red cleans up very well

I bought this for $1000 and it has been amazing. had 2 9-5s before this but i cant afford anything now so i think god graced me with this find. runs like a top at 150,000 have only had to replace serpentine belt so far. fuel pump, water pump, radiator, etc have all been done.

Cool find man! check the Cable in the Clutch assembly. as others have stated it does stretch over time and can cause clutch like failure symptoms. I'd also look into transmission mounts.

$2000 got me my '98 NG900 SE Turbo 5 speed 133k miles. I only had to get a headlight lens and replace a frozen rear caliper in order to pass Maryland State Inspection. the only MAJOR issue I have had was my water pump, which set me at $300 including labor. other than that, she purrs like a kitten at 144k. (as of today!)

I went from this...

and spent about $700-$800 on various stuff to get this.

In short, for under $3000, I have a hot hatchback that impresses a lot of people, and has about 230-250 Horsepower too!

Love the muffler tip, but not like that. Needs to be in the muffler "cut-out" much higher, or you are going to lose it backing into something, or push the exhaust forward, which is bad.

Also, unless you had something done to swap engines, ECU bigger turbo etc, the car has 185HP. It is not a Viggen.

Nice car. I've been looking for that muffler tip for years. I finally found one and then made a dual tip carbon end, and the tip got bumped into the bumper and rubbed the carbon off. Hence me knowing the tip is too low.

lol yes i do believe you can feel the torque steer even at stock. honestly i kind of think "how did they let the car leave the factory like this"

but at the end of the day, its still a good car, and a really good car if you factor in price....

HOT IC and 3 inch pipes will do alot more than 20 HP if you get a good tune for it.

which leads to your next question. the tunes make it so much better. even with stock hardware you can see 20HP increases.

also good tunes make the car nicer to drive even just crusin around town and not tryin to race

Look under the car and take a pic of the front control arms. The stock 94- to late-95 front control arms suck ass. They were changed for the 1996 model year to improve the handling. It would be worth the energy to pull the revised control arms off a junked 96-02. They're that bad.

If you're just looking to improve power and help the turbo, then just a bigger IC and a 3-inch downpipe would be fine.
