My car sucks in the snow.

1.5 inches on the ground, and I almost died about 4 times.

I grew up in Minnesota so I know a thing or two about driving in crappy weather.

I need tires.

Bad.

Pssssh, snow tires. We've got 3-4 inches and I'm still riding on the 225-45-17 Z rated Sumitomo's. Its a blast.

(snows will be going on ASAP. I like living.)

I'm also rocking the steelies, I don't have a hub cap however, what are your opinions on leaving the hub nut out like that on the fronts? It doesn't look like the rear is very open but the front getting all slushed and salted...

Anyway, I'll post pics of the Tirerack job with the Pilot Alpins once I get the smoked foglight Rockblockers on, I think I may try to find some good looking hubcaps and Duplicolor them black.

Scott, I feel the exact same way. I can't believe I ever drove all seasons in the winter. The difference is ENORMOUS. I mean, I used to drive my 98 900S with GOOD michelin all seasons in the winter, and it handled what I thought was ok, but with these snow tires, wow! The car just does not want to skid... I can slam on the brakes, it stays in a nice straight line. Now, accelerating is a bit of a different story... there's some slide with that, but braking or driving... no way. PERFECT. Feels like summer.

Put on the winter rims last sunday before the snow. The tires I have are so-so. Really need a set of new snows. Have to wait until after the holidays....

After three tries, got my Gislaveds on 9-5 rims on today! Kinda hard to tell how they'll do in the snow since it was 68 degrees and windier than all get out today in Vermont...

What the hell is up with this weather?
