Any one else get the recall notification letter?

I'd heard about this but wasn't sure if it was for real or not.
It's not in front of me right now, but I think it said March 2006.
I also think it said that they are issuing a new part.
What good news! hopefully the fix is as good as the PCV fix .

The letter you received is actually a letter of intent to perform a recall after an inspection is done to your vehicle. I have already spoken to the dealer and the internal GM Recall division and they confiremed that this will not be a blanket recall where everyone gets a new DI but just like the sludge issue your car has to be inspected and then determined to have the issue and then you get a new part. Kind of irritating!!

yup my parents just got one today in the mail, if anyone wants to see the letter i can post up a pick, but basically what steve said, seems like theyre only replacing em if they fail, and only when they can actually get a supply of good DI's in, should be interesting .

I have never recieved such letter. I have a 1999 9-3 T5, is my car exempt or do I need to investigate further. My car has 156k and I am afraid of a potential sludge problem.

A pic would be nice.
What exactly is the recall for?
I did get the sludge letter, but not the DI.

Na there is no way to tell by looking at it...the short blocks are all the same, just a longer stroke in the Aero's. I have an oldschool valve cover on it thats polished...the Aero turbo and 3" exhaust might look a bit out of place though...oh and the oil catch, intake and wideband setup

Coop, I think you should take your car in for the inspection just to see the mechanics face when he looks and sees whats under the hood. It'd be priceless.

I went in for the recall sometime around march. The check engine light was on because of the di so they replaced it.
