Odd year?

Hey guys.My 1998 convertible has some parts very different from some of my other NG 900 s.

1 steering shaft is bigger than any of my wheel adapters from my '95 and '97
2 Standard trans.linkage adjustment very different
3 High pressure p/s line [Which I replaced because of rust, naturally],much different than the others.

4 The instrument panel [that only works when it feels like it] has a "shift up"
light.Is this normal for a 98.

'94-'98 cars are always listed to-gether on websites,is there actually a difference mid year?

Anyone know...?....Ernie

The steering column on yours is shared with the 9-3 and 9-5, which is why it has the same steering wheel as those cars.

The linkage should be exactly the same as the revised linkage they put out in '96 or so.

I'm not sure about the power steering line. I wouldn't be surprised that if yours is different, then it's the same as the 9-3's line.

The shift up light had been in the NG900 for a few years. My '97 has one, too.

The '98's pretty much the same as the '97 900. It did get a couple of 9-3 parts, though, like the steering wheel and column, and a hydraulic clutch.

'98 was a little bit of an odd year.

In 1998, Europe was getting the 9-3 while US was getting the last year of the ng900.

'99 9-3s in the US are also a little off (but not like the '98's)

As far as the '98 goes, it will have the different steering column, the hydraulic clutch (as opposed to the cable). It will have the different sized wheel hubs that came out in '97, the shift linkage from '96.

Think of it more as a '99 9-3 with the skin/buttons of a ng900.

They all have it, many are disabled with tuning.

Mark pretty much nailed it. 98 900's are cool cars, they even came in rootbeer color

You need a 99 and up steering column? I got one that I have had for a long time now. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.
