Ok, correct me if I am wrong.

501 - N/A trans
505 - This was in both my 1999 9-3
507 - Came from 2001 9-3


They all bolt up the same and are interchangeable right?

I had a 507 in my ng for a while, and then once I lost reverse on it I put a 501 back in. I like the 501 out of the ng much better for spirited driving than the 507. it's geared differently and just felt better to me.

Yes, but the bracketry to mount the trans to the shift linkage and rear motor mount changes bit by bit. Not a huge issue tho.

you will need the rear 507 bracket if it is going in an older non 507 car. as tweek says nothing difficult.

The trans is bolted up, just have to do subframe, exhaust, and little bits. Oh and another trans flush. 60 more dollars of fluid, sweet.

Went home for dinner will finish tomorrow.

The shift linkage/engine mount was slightly different, but no big deal. It was easy to make work.
