WOOO Bought an NG!

I could not pass up the deal. A 1995 900SE turbo 5 speed for $500! It needs a few things obviously and I was looking for some advice on how to go about it.

1. Needs a new balljoint. Do I need to replace the whole control arm to do this?

2. It may need a strut mount, I have not really looked into it yet.

3. I think it might actually have the original head gasket. I will probably just re-torque the head bolts and call it a day. Oil and coolant are perfect.

4. It has winter only wheels. I was wondering if anyone has some NG SE or 5 lug wheels with tires to fit the car for a reasonable price?

5. The exhaust is rusted off right before the back muffler. It sounds great so I will just weld a pipe to the tail and delete the back muffler.

6. The cabin fan stays on high to matter what so the fuse was pulled, I am expecting this to be a normal thing with a documented fix.

Thanks!

I emailed that guy! Was a bit too much for me to take on without a garage or driveway to keep it in. Congrats.

1. You need to replace the whole arm.

2. I just ordered a brand new OEM set from some guy from CL. $100. I saw some aftermarket ones for 100 on ebay and KYB's for 60 shipped. not sure how they work though.

3. Nice.

4. Albert is selling his Pruven rims for $250, I'm selling my RK1's for $400. No tires here though. Check craigslist for tires

5. I have a saabsport pipe that connects between the flex and the rear muffler.

6. Junkyard

It has ACC not manual heater controlls right? It may be the fan speed controller. I have one I took off a parts car if you think that is the problem (PM Me). Search for that and determine if you think that is the problem.

http://www.eeuroparts.com/Main/PartD...spx?id=7495930

I had to replace mine in my 94 900SE. I don't remeber what its symptoms were though.

yay.

Hold auto and off on the ACC to run a diagnostic. Tell us/look up any code that appear.

0 will mean everything is fine.

PS my brother has an SMBC if you want....though it would kinda defeat the purpose of T5Suite.

What a good deal.

My exhaust was rusted away for quite a few inches in the same spot. I found a used replacement from the engine back and replaced all of the clamps.

For the fan being on high all the time, for me it was the fan speed controller. I had to pull the fuse for a few days.

Where is the fan speed resistor located? How hard is it to do the strut bearing?
