Tires: now or later?

the tires on the viggen are officially done. Two options i have thought of.

Rotate them and bring the better (but still worn) two tires up to the front and finish out the rest of the summer/fall on them. (once september rolls around i'll be driving the spg mostly) this way i can dismount the old tires and re-finish/paint the RK's and then mount new tires i get on clearance this winter.

option two is to just buy 4 new summer tires now and dismount them after the car is stored for the winter and do the refinish/painting project then.

thoughts?

well it depends. Bald is bald! If not bald keep driving ideally until the end

But when you put the car away then go buy summer tires because in the winter they are cheap not the spring when they are expensive

Never dismount tires unless you need to (put on different rims, different car...) The second time around often you get a slow leak or some other fuckup. Virgin is always tighter!
