Exclamation Gas Thread! - Which gas are you using? -

Searched around didn't see one of these so I thought it might be helpful to some people and interesting if anything to see what everybody is running on!

I was running on 89 for a couple of months, switched over to 94.
With a 94 I'm getting better milage and car runs noticably better.

What do you use?

they're not all a scam, the detergents they use are required by auto manufacturers. Each engine runs better on different additives, so there is no golden rule as to who has "good" or "bad" gas. Aside from the additives, all gasolines of a certain octane are virtually identical.

Was running 89 on my N/A 900.
Switched to 93 about two months ago, and like you have noticed better gas mileage.

Also 93' for the 9-3, and 9-5.

x2. An oil company puts so many gallons of gasoline into the national pipeline, and pumps out an equal amount on the other end. There is no way to ensure that Shell only gets gas that was refined at one of their plants. The additive package is where the differences lie, for the most part.

I use Chevron, and we only get 91 with 10% ethanol and other CA state mandated bullshit.

Its kinda hard to find not as a specialty gas.

Not many stations have above 94 as pump.

None of my turbo cars have seen under 93 octane. Usually get citgo or sunoco. I stay away from Mobil and Exxon. I have had bad luck with their gas in my SPG several times.

That's a RON (research octane number) octane rating. Here in the US we use RON+MON/2 at our pumps. Generally RON runs about 6-7 points higher than MON, so you'd be right on par with us.

Ive run race gas in my car and seen a big improvement, I think I put in a gallon of race gas per 4 gallons of 93 putting me around 100 octane haha. Car was happy as can be.

When I was in Europe, some stations had 97.
