I believe yes - however the hatch strut mountings are different... so may require a little welding to swap over one style to the other.

uh...stig just did this, and it did not require any welding of any sort.

you need the trunk lid, the corner fill pieces (plastic bits under the tail lights) and either the inner our the outer tail lights (i believe the other tail lights) for the swap.

No welding. I didn't have to swap any lights. Even the all the wiring plugs right in

My brother has a 95 900se coupe and it has a 9-3 hatch on it. I think it's a direct swap.

I wonder then how a set of oem hatch struts from a ng900 1994-1997 won't fit a 2002 9-3 hatch. One of the sets is longer and has an offset head where it attaches to the body. The other is shorter and straight.

Was there any problem with the brake light failure warning?

The 9-3 uses LED bulbs where as the NG900 used the regular bulbs. The difference in the expected resistances is what triggers the message so just ignore it. It may be possible to keep it from coming on with the Tech II?? I doubt it but it may be possible

I'm sure with a similar set up with resistors for the LED corner/tail light mod, you could get the message to go away.

I didn't think the NG900 monitored the 3rd brake light. I could be wrong, though.

There goes my idea of replacing all 4 bulbs with LEDs! At least until I decide to add a resistor to the mix...
