bov question

I am on a budget lately and i was wondering if anyone has used this as an upgrade to their recirculating valve.... http://www.elkparts.com/saab-93-m980...ion.p3318.html . i was wondering about the benefits/ holds boost better? i know its not as good as a forge bov but i figured if it was an okay upgrade i could use it as a temporary for awhile. tell me your thoughts or experience. thanks for any help.

i've never used that kit, but have heard people say before you buy a BOV, vent your BPV to the atmosphere and plug the hose leading back to the intake.
in my opinion, it sounds better than the forge BOV (which i am currently running) because it is more of a subtle "whoosh" sound...

the stock part is good for a certain amount of boost- search or someone can answer that i'm sure- and the BOV comes with spring tuning kits. a few threads on that too.

i have problems to sort out with my car, but plan to go back to the vented BPV set up someday.

Wrong

Blow off valve won't change anything but the way the air escapes

Some are vented to atmosphere and some are sent back into the intake piping

so essentially the best way to increase psi would be to work with the turbo itself?

That Doesn't work to well on a T7 car. But on My 9000 I stick a Turkey Call on the Exit Pipe and it Squalks Away Off throttle. Kinda fun to Play with now and then, You'll Laugh your ass off if you try it.

Your wastehate adjust how much pressure is allowed in the system
But ie you allow more boost your ecu has to be tuned to handle it

hmm i see. i was thinking a tuned ecu and a more strict wastegate would help out. however since all that extra air is getting into the cylinder would'nt you have to increase fuel too? like larger injectors, to keep the ratios correct. or is the ecu able to regulate that?

Tuning your ecu will take care of that
You'll need bigger injectors if you were going very very high boost
Your a stock turbo won't push enough air to need it without pushing itself out of efficiency
