Friend's:900SET MCY 97

So my friends car shopping. I found a

1997 Saab 900 SE Convertible, 2.0 Turbo 4 cyl., Auto trans., power windows and locks, cruise and tilt, power seat, leather seats, top in real good cond., no rust, 147,000 miles

$2950

No CELS
Radio doesn't work.

Any tips for when I check it out specific to Verts or 900SETs'? I have a 99 9-3 5dr so I know alot what to check for.

Did the 900's have the 5th bow issue?

Thanks,

Dylan

Is it truly 1 of only 32 MCY 97 900SETs in the US?

Anyone have unlimited Carfax reports here? Anyone willing to spare one?

Standard MPG (Highway/City/Average (top up)) *I've never had 2 working o2 sensors (and just got a fully functional autotragic) so IDK what I'm suppose to be getting for MPG.

350 MCY 900 convertibles were produced for the global market in 1997. 32 of these were brought to the U.S. I had the pleasure of meeting the original owner of my '97 convertible who informed me of this earlier in the week. It was verified when a co-worker purchased another one of the MCY '97 convertibles and the original window sticker provided us with the edition number of 17/32. I have never been able to find out what number mine is, but I'm hoping a phone call to Saab tomorrow will give me the answer.

These cars did have the 5th bow issues, but if the local dealership that serviced this car was anything like us, there is a chance that they may have got a whole new convertible top rather than just the 5th bow. There were so many of these cars affected by this issue, that we ran out of 5th bows and started throwing whole convertible tops on.
