How many times does your 9-3 crank before firing?

Just curious.
Mine is about 4, I think.

Also, when yours fires, how much do you feel it in the cabin?
Mine kinda boggles the cabin once. I feel it particularly in the steering wheel. Comparing it to my dad's TL-S and my grandfather's Camry, I don't know if that's normal, those two you can't even tell when the car starts. I don't know if it's normal or not, this being the only saab i've sat in recent memory.

I know I have a bad transmission mount (changing this weekend) but I don't think that would affect it.

Just trying to get some information, all is welcome.

Cranks

I have often wondered the same thing. I have a 1999 9-3 Convertible. It is my first Saab. Previously I have owned mainly Honda's and am used to them starting immediately. My 9-3 turns somewhere between 4 to 6 times. There is never a starting issue but these seems like a lot to me.

I always let the fuel pump prime first. Turn the key to on... Wait for fuel pump priming to stop(3-4 seconds)... Crank over engine. Usually fires right up.

Mine starts up in 5-6 turns when cold but once its warm its down to 3-4. It starts pretty easily as well, like a solid shimmy when it fires.

It's normal for 99 9-3's to crank long. Almost everyone of them does it. Can't explain why but they just do.

My 2000 starts instantly. Faster then anything I have ever owned. It's very reassuring.

Same with my Viggen, 3-4 times when I'm below a 1/4 tank and above that it's instant.
