T7 b234 swap NO CEL

well i figured id contribute some new information i gathered over the last month.

we had a 2.0T 01 Convertable with Td04 and automatic. Engine was bad. I built a b234 and b234 rotating assembly. Got it all put together and running. fired it up and it ran smooth, but the oil light would flicker when the car was idleing.

a few days later we found that the motor was assembled using a turned crank and standard bearings, instead of the bearings that were ordered for that particular crank. We installed the correct bearings bearings and alls well...

runs good pulls good, and all that, the only question is why hasnt T7 Thrown a code? i figured that would happen immediately but it hasnt? can anyone justify this?

Why would it throw a code? Did you put the b234 in on the stock 2.0 T7 tune? It may not have had enough time yet to throw it.

i thought that would be bad to run the 2.0 tune on the b234. wouldn't it run lean?

It'll probably run fine until you beat on it.

i dont know how i'd feel about doing that on T7. T7 has enough problems with running lean as it is, so lets put a tune on there that is going to run leaner than normal.

what about on a t5? do you think it would be ok to just start it up and see if it ran ok? like to cycle some oil and coolant through for a flush? cause i just did a swap but i dont have the software yet.
