tire ?

ok so i have searched the threads and i have found the general opinion is you can fit 245/45/18 with a 35mm offset. what about a 245/45/17 on the stock viggen wheels? im only asking cause i messed up and i ordered these. i really don't want to return them that would be a pain. its only a 20mm diff and thats like 3/8 of an inch on both sides, i'm thinking that they should clear fine? thanks everyone

i don't think that will even fit the rim will it? usually 245's go on an 8" wide rim aren't viggen rims 7.5"? i think a 245 tire is almost like 9" wide

its would fit but the ride quality or steering will probably be effected alot. i would suggest no more then a 235 for a 7.5" wide wheel.

since you have a viggen it will most likely not. the only thing that rubbed when i had the Rk1's is in the rear, but the viggens have a cut out for that, and in the front and the viggens have the screws trimmed down to avoid that to.

if they rub you might be better off selling them rather than returning them. or take them to a local dealer that sells that tire and see if you can exchange for the proper size.

Id go with what johnny said, its going to be tough returning them, your better off trying to sell them to a used tire place, and try to get most of your money back, i doubt you will be able to exchange them without losing some money, good luck!

I'm almost certain they will rub. I have Moose's old RK1's (35 mm offset), and with 225/45/17's, they rub very slightly in the front of my Viggen on compression, on the outside shoulder of the tire against the top of the plastic fender liner. I have Eibachs and Konis. A stock Viggen wheel is 42 mm offset, which will move the shoulder of the tire inward 7 mm compared to mine, but then you are moving it back out 10 mm with the larger tire (1/2 of the extra 20 mm width goes to the outside). Combined with the relatively tall sidewall of a 245/45/17, I will be surprised if it doesn't rub.

And x. 2 on the tramlining. I know it's a hassle, but I would pick another tire.
