Radio Issues

So I have a 99 9-3. The radio display isnt working and the radio is locked. Is there a way to unlock with the display out or do i have to get a new radio?

The Radio information is actually displayed on the SID (saab instrument display).

Are you saying that the SID is not displaying anything? It should be showing things like time, distance to empty, mpg, temperature etc. Before I messed with the radio I would check to see if that was working properly. The SID's do have a tendency to fail.

If that is working right, the radio headunit is married to the car via the car's VIN. IT shouldn't have changed, but if it is not original to the car, the radio has to be divorced from the car it was in, and then married to the car it is put into. You need a tech2 device to accomplish this.

I would start by checking all of your fuses.
