I adopted a '99 9-3se

A friend of mine recently purchased a newer vehicle and decided that he was no longer interested in caring for his Saab. I already have an ng900 daily driver, an ng900 vert project car, and another ng900 parts car. So I was reluctant to take this car off of his hands, but I just couldn't pass up what he was offering me.

It is nowhere near perfect, and actually has a lot of nagging minor problems.
But the car has a 19t, GS downpipe, GS open air intake, GS Short shifter, Forge intercooler, Saab sport exhaust, Koni adjustable shocks and vogtland springs, siemens deka injectors 3 bar map sensor, spec stage 3+ clutch, JZW stage 5 tune

I'm probably forgetting other things as well. It was just too good of a deal to pass on.

Guh.. I need a new 9-3.
There's a couple here in MD/DC, but they're all in pretty rough shape.

I have a feeling I'm going to have to buy a T7 car to get one worth swapping.

Thanks Craig. I'm going to try to swap the sunroof out today. I pulled the one from my parts car. The one in the silver car doesn't close forward all the way and therefore will not open in the vent position.

Also, I think I will most likely replace the brown car with this one. Unfortunately the brown 900 has some awful rust on the underside.

The sun roof in this car wouldn't close forward completely, not allowing it to open as a vent. I pulled the sunroof out of my parts car and popped it in the other day. This is what the top of the headliner looked like. I'd say it has been clogged for quite a while.

Ew. How are the drains? Id think that even if it didn't close or seal well, the drains should take care of the mess.

A few pictures from this past weekend

This car was so filthy on the inside. My Fiance' and I Spent 4 hours cleaning yesterday. We pulled the front seats out, vacuumed and shampooed the carpet. As well as scrubbed down every single surface. Then I pulled out that terrible wood grain dash. It all looks so much better now.

I will putting this 9-3 up for sale soon. if nobody is interested in buying it I will likely part it out. This car is a little too radical for me.

It's not so much as to how quick the car is, but the front suspension is all poly bushings, and the diesel rear engine mount. The car also guzzles gas. I'm used to my saabs getting close to 30mpg, not 18.

If it's getting 18mpg there's something wrong. Unless it has really wicked cams or something it should still get in the neighborhood of 30mpg.

x2

I dont see this setup being very different from my 18T. My wagon is an easy 500lbs heavier and I beat on the car and mostly local driving nets 23mpg, more highway gets me 25mpg and long trips 30-32mpg.

I never did the math. I was only going off of what the previous owner had estimated.
the sid doesn't calculate fuel mileage correctly with the deka injectors. otherwise I'd be getting 47 mpg.
