Just how much oil does a 9-3 Viggen Take?

I love my car.. but the dip-stick has got to be the most stupidly difficult to read design ever thought up by an automotive engineer.

I'm GUESSING that the Viggen takes about 4.5 quarts of oil.. but with that as my only tool.. I really can't tell if I'm too low of if I over-filled it.

Anybody know??

Depends on if its drained completely (which it should always be).

I think its 4.1 qts. It also says the amount in your Owners Manual.

The Viggen is only 4? I know mine is supposed to take 4.1.

Do the 9-3s take 10w30 in the transmission like the NG900s too?

Well, dean from saabnet says 4 even? I used that info when I noticed my manual is only for the 9-3 and not viggen specific....?

Fill it, run the engine for a minute or two then wipe the dipstick and check again. I thought it was 4.1.

Manual says 4.1 for the NG's. I usually put 4 even because i don't like filling it right to the line.

I put 4 even because I'm lazy and don't feel like using that extra .1Q...

4 even on the 2.0L maybe. The 2.3 has to take more than that... We're talking about a Viggen, not a regular 2.0T 9-3.
