Angry Radio Won't Turn Off

I've had the sticky ignition cylinder issue for a long time - where you turn the car off and remove the key and the ignition won't pop up, thus leaving the radio on. You reinsert the key, jiggle, remove, and it turns off. Now today I can't get the radio to turn off without pulling the fuse. The ignition cylinder pops up as intended, the head unit display shuts off (not the case with a stuck cylinder), but the mast stays up and the controls for the radio still work. I can push the on/off button to get it to shut down or turn back on, and the unit is still live. What the heck happened here? Thoughts for a fix?

Haven't had a chance to pick up any dry lube for the ignition, but it seems that isn't the issue this time. I have the fuse pulled while away from the car because I'm not sure how much power it is drawing even with the radio turned off. It isn't an issue of the radio resetting, because after I pull the fuse, I can reinsert it and without touching any controls the mast goes up and the sound pops on (no head unit display).

I've never seen that... that is weird. Might be the slide contact inside the electrical portion of the ignition switch is stuck so even when the lock cylinder pops up it doesn't turn off.
