I bought another one. Again.

My friend Tim (easily) came across this car on Craigslist. He was insistent that I bought the car. So today my girlfriend and I took a ride out with Tim to look at the car. It's a fairly clean '98 900s that somehow spun a bearing. The car has 120,000 something miles on it. Not much surface rust, a little dinged up hood and driver side fender. But a new battery and mostly new exhaust. I couldn't pass up a car in this color. The guy was asking $650 and I offered him $400. He immediately accepted my offer. I guess I should have gone lower.

I'm just going to swap in an engine clean up the car and try to find a set of closed face Vikings for it. Maybe a brake upgrade and sway bar. No go fast parts needed.

I've contemplated many times, but that would be a very involved conversion.

Yeah they were "strippers" typically. Cloth seats, manual HVAC but had turbo badges on the rear.

^I think my lady had one! She swears she had a root beer 900 turbo. I think she got rid of it for some stupid reason, mechanic told her it needed something ridiculous and she didn't know any better, so she sold it for pennies.

Here's a small update. Got the car home Saturday afternoon and got a chance to start cleaning it out today. Found some interesting things.

The tape deck works flawlessly, the apple Newton I'm not so sure about. I was very pleased to find the duplicate key in the glove box because I was only given one key. And as far as the risers on the pedals, I've never seen anything like that before.

Also, the lights in the gauge cluster don't come on, but I haven't looked into it yet.

yeah I think I want to keep the whole OE 900 look to it. I was never much of a fan of the catalog kit.
