My 2010 9-5 Aero

I guess I'll start things off here. 3 weeks into my new 9-5 Aero experience and it's been terrific. I have a fairly well equipped Aero, everything except the rear entertainment package. Love the HUD, 19' wheels don't seem to harshen the ride and the technology packed into the car is top shelf. In person the car has a real presence and until you see one live the pictures don't do it justice. The sport setting adds a nice taut feel, especially in the twisties. Typical Saab acceleration, nice pull from 30 mph on up.

If any of you have any questions about the car I'd be happy to try an answer them.

Nice, the back end reminds me alot of the Aero X rear end.

I am really liking the new 95s, looks like Saab is going in the right direction this time.
Now they really have to start offering the Aero with a manual trans.

The paint looks great! Doesn't look like it has the orange peel that a lot of newer cars have.

New cars strive for what they call "uniform finish". This means there is a little bit of orange peel in the paint. This hides minor imperfections in the panels. Just about every car maker does this now.

I have read about Porsche owners taking delivery of a car, then immediately sending it to a private shop to have the whole car wetsanded and buffed.

That is so true...I was looking at a brand new Porsche parked next me the other day, I was amazed to see the orange peel in the paint...

"Uniform finish"

Sounds like they should just fix the imperfections they are covering up, or get it right the first time!

I guess everybody has an opinion on how much "imperfection" can be labeled as "orange. Peel". I look at any lambo, veyron, rr, and even though from a perpendicular angle they look perfect, when you take a serious acute angle on complex curves they can be called "deficient".

Perfect mirror finish is a rare occurence on assembly line cars. I can't look at a honda and not see about 70% orange peel. Hondas truly suck at paint quality.

Porshes usually have outstanding paint finish. In my humble opinion, at least...

Zaino finish

I don't know if some of you are familiar with Zaino but the pictures you see are after a day's worth of removing the dealership crap and refinishing with Zaino.
The underside of the Aero has a "rough' finish, something I appreciate as it won't chip. Black isn't a color it's a second job but I love the look when it's done right. I detected no orange peel in the finish. It's a very nice paint job and the "jet black metallic" has a lot of flake in it giving a highlight to the shine.
