Cool Down shifting Auto Gearbox drag

So I recently purchased a Saab 93 and i have noticed that when the car switches from 4th to 3rd and then 3rd to 2nd and so on... the car feels like it is engine breaking?

If i leave it in neutral i coast without losing any speed.

Any ideas?

Also, should i do a tranny flush? I'm at 120 000k

I know this topic has been covered for older cars but im looking for something a little more up to date

In my experience, that is how most automatic transmissions behave?

Haha. Yeah, the 5-speed auto in those likes to downshift and engine brake, especially if you car has a Sport mode, feels pretty different than some other cars. It's just more pronounced in the way they programmed the 9-3 to behave.

As long as it doesn't clunk or bang into gear or shift hard or anything, it's fine.
