Unhappy Saab Key Issue

I have a saab 9-3, 2011 model. Got a message that the key wasn't recognized, then the steering column lock was malfunctioning. THEN we did a hard restart. I got the key to work and the car started. Locked it in a parking lot. Came out to find the Remote start buttons on the keywill not unlock doors but will set off the panic alarm, metal key won't open door. Road side assistance couldn't even get in the car.

Any suggestions out there aside from breaking a window?
The car is in gear and the emergency break is on so to tow it it needs to be put up on wheels.

Metal key won't open the door? Did it ever work? Is there a local dealer (What part of the country) near you? You can order a new metal key cut based on VIN number. Have you changed the key battery or tried second key?

If you don't have a second key, as you resolve this problem, get a second key.

I don't know if the '11's had it, but some of the cars had a little protective cap over a lock tumbler on the trunk lid, so you can also open the trunk with the emergency key blade and then climb through the back.

What does the key blade do in the door? Just not turn? It might just need some lubricant if it's never been used before (it is almost 4 years old).

A better locksmith or tow driver should be able to get an inflatable bladder under the top corner of the door and get it open enough to fish a probe in there to hit the unlock button on the driver's door panel. The doors are strong enough that as long as you don't pry the door way too far open it won't bend or anything.

my '08 doesnt have a spot on the trunk for a key blade. the only slot for a key on mine is the drivers door.

sounds like youll need to get a decent locksmith out and then call the dealer to get the problems fixed as you have a couple.
