Gearbox Malfunction, clicking sound,no start up

While I was driving my 2003 9-3 Vector to work a few days ago I got a "Gearbox Malfunction limited performance" message on my SID. As I kept driving all my cockpit lights started to dim, my radio shut down, and started getting other messages, "ABS failure", "traction control failure", "headlight leveling system failure". When I got to work, I shut the engine down and tried to start it up again... I only heard two clicks coming from the engine bay and nothing else, once again I got the Gearbox message. While in the parking lot we checked the voltage on the battery and it was dead (12%) after a failed try to recharge the battery I decided to buy a new one. I changed it, started the engine, message did not come back, drove car to Autozone and tried to check the alternator... battery was at 40% after driving less than 3 miles.

My car now has a new battery and new alternator, when I went to started up for the first time... Gearbox message came back, I only hear the engine click but does not start, I can't hear the starter even trying to rotate. I hit it a little with a rubber hammer but nothing happens. All my lights and everything works... I don't know what else to do.

Please help, any info is greatly appreciated!!!

I'd imagine its the auto as the manual is not electronic controlled.

Usually clicks from starter means the solenoid has failed or not enough juice to spin the motor.

You sure that battery you got is fully charged?

Common on the 9-3 Sport Sedan when the battery is low. Maybe you just didn't give it long enough to charge the battery back up? Loose or corroded battery cables will do it too.
