Viggen stereo upgrade

Hi all,

I have been searching high an low for some help with dash kit for my 01 Viggen. No one seems to make one. I have seen a few threads here where people customized their dash to make a Double Din Unit fit. I recently purchased:

Head Unit:
Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS 2-DIN Multimedia DVD Receiver with 6.1 WVGA
Dash:
Pioneer TS-A878 3 1/2 Inch 2-Way Speakers
Doors:
Pioneer TSD1602R 6.5 Inch Two-Way Speakers with 260 Watts Max Power
Rear:
PIONEER TS-D6902R 2 WAY 6X9 360W CAR SPEAKERS ( PAIR )
Sub:
Rockford Fosgate P300-10 Punch Powered Loaded 10-Inch Subwoofer Enclosure
Amp:
MRX-F35 - Alpine 4-Channel X-Power Series Amplifier

It will be a great system. any help on guidance on getting the head unit to fit is greatly appreciated.

There isn't a dash kit available due to the dash needing modified as in the hole made larger for a double din unit to fit.

Genuinesaab and possibly your local dealership has the wiring kit

I would return your dash and door speakers and get something better. No need having a tweeter in the door and in the dash..... All you need is a component set, put the tweeters in the dash and the midbass drivers in the door. Preferably add sound deadening stuff to the doors when the door panels are off, huge sq improvement there.

My setup is as follows

Alpine inaw910 double din deck
Hertz Mille 6.5 in component set - not a clue what their power rating is, pointless info
Focal polyglass 6x9 in the rear only for the kids
Morel ultimo 12 sub

Amps
Pheonix gold elite.4 for components and rears
Pheonix gold elite.2 for the morel sub

What do you plan on powering with the 4 channel amp?

I agree with GM, components for the door/dash.
Power them with the front channel on the amp.
Power the rear 6x9's(or better yet, convert to round speakers) form the deck.
Bridged channels 3 and 4 on the amp to power the sub.

You will need to remove your cup holder and i believe cut a little further south on the dash to make the HU fit.

6x9's can sound quite excellent actually, no reason to convert to 6.5's .....
