Do not install aftermarket tire pressure sensors!

I damaged a tire sensor valve on my '08 9-3 convertible and thought I could go a less expensive route......Goodyear tire store for a replacement. BAD IDEA!!!!
The beasts that work there know nothing about the intricacies of calibrating the system once they installed a new aftermarket valve or whether the new valve was defective or not.
After 2 days of riding around with the dash display indicating a system failure, I finally went to the dealer and a half hour's labor later, I was told that the new valve was defective. I returned to the Goodyear store and received a complete refund for the part, labor and the dealer labor charge.
$182 later......the dealer did the replacement with the calibration and I'm good to go!
Moral: Go to the damn dealer and pay the man!!

Agreed. Don't cheap out on the computerized parts of our rides. Very rarely do you come out ahead.

That TMPS light is annoying. And the fact that you have to clear the SID is just more annoying... I'd rather pay for the sensors, imo.
