Air Mass Meter choices for Viggen

I want to get a new Air Mass Meter for the Viggen just because I want to have a reference point for when it's been changed. I know we've had this discussion somewhere on here before, but what ones have you guys had good luck with? prices are all over the place (starting at about $85).

No feeling too good about that one. If I had a B235R, the AMM is the absolute LAST part I'd skimp on.

Do these things just go along their merry way, all the while screwing up your engine without throwing a CEL or what? I've cleaned mine, not knowing if it needed it or not. Car runs decent. Not a real screamer though, IMHO.

They're generally reliable, but I think the concern is more that if they fail, or if they're relaying inaccurate information back to the ECU, they can contribute to leanout conditions....which the B235R absolutely hates. I think you're smart just replace it as a baseline.

Yeah, I was looking into the cheap remans and modding a GM one into my car. I ended up with a $350 OEM one. Murr.

I clean my MAF every oil change. Doesn't hurt, and only takes a minute.

Did it make any difference in how the motor runs at all? Mine seems to be a healthier sounding powerplant when it's still relatively cold. Which makes me think the engine sounds better when it's running richer. I just don't like some of the sounds that come from it as it gets warmer. Certainly not like any B234R I've driven.

Well first of all wrong section. Surprised no one caught this.

Secondly, clean the MAF with MAF cleaner, its makes one hell of a difference. First time i cleaned mine for my 205R, i noticed quicker throttle response and a more "umpf". Please it helps keep the deposits off the sensors from having a cone filter which the charge oil can ruin and fry the MAF.
