Worked on this guy for a while today, Aero V6 Combi w/ 6MT, MapTun box, plus... it has a killer set of plates.

Stay thirsty, my friends.

That's nice but kind of a downgrade from what you were working on yesterday, eh?

I think it's just their stage 1, owner will have it paid off in the next few months, then we'll do an exhaust and probably another round of spark plugs and go from there.

The MapTuner for the V6 cars flashes the tune in under a minute, much faster bus speed than the Ecotec 4-cyl cars, I was very surprised it was so fast.

Tuning the V6 cars is stupid expensive, and I think this one has a clunk starting in the dual mass flywheel, so we'll see what happens of he decides to throw more power at the car.

************

That classic convertible is one of our loaners - that was the red convertible in the Sideways film, Walter bought it from the production company after filming was done 4-5 years back, that's one of the mechanics and Walter leaning on it after a long hard day of selling ignition switches for NG900's, and re-sealing timing covers.

Oh yes, and transmission mounts. Transmission mounts for all!

Aside from ignition coils. The V6 is cheap to tune. Grab a Hptuners and go for it. About 200 per car for the license if you are not doing lots of them.

I'm the only diagnostic tech at the shop, and I'm trying to pull in more BMW/Mini and Audi/VW cars to get our count back up, it's slowed down drastically here in the last year and we're barely breaking even to cover expenses, so all the fun projects are backburnered pretty severely.

I end up referring customers to the tune retailers and try to get you orders for exhausts and mounts and stuff when I can, but I'm running 50% of the office, and 50% as a tech in the bay.

This guy is gonna get hold of you with some catback questions I hope soon too.

I don't know if he has the pockets to keep doing plugs and for the nit-picky stuff for this car either.

I found 3 things leaking air behind the inlet mani yesterday, and it came in with the P0089-Fuel pressure reg. performance, if he has to throw a pump in this car that'll set back tuning it a fair bit, what with pump assms. listing ~$460.

This car's got 66k on it, and I already put all 6 updated coils and plugs in it prolly 10k ago, and may need pump, clutch/flywheel, manual trans oil soon.

That one is an '06, so it didn't get the updated stereo (that's XM capable) or the knob climate control, and still has the SID on top of the dash instead of in the cluster, other than that they're basically the same.
