You need a CANdi module and security access.

Go to year, model, diagnostics, all, get security access.

Disconnect the battery and install the new module. It really isn't necessary to actually go through the "remove" process on the Tech 2.

With the new module installed you'll probably have to go in to the Service screen under the ALL menu and force the key unlock to continue since the new ECU will lock out the ignition switch and give you an immobilizer failure.

then go to the All menu, Add/Remove, Control Modules, then ECM. Just follow the instructions on the screen. The final step is to clear DTC's.

Make sure its on a battery charger when you do all this. If it dies it will brick the ECU. Also, if you're adding a performance ECU, never SPS update the ECM software as it will overwrite it.

Cant unlock the SID with Tech 2.

The way that I have always married a new T7 ECU is this:
Go to TWICE and divorce the radio.
Then shut the car off and swap ECU's.
With the new ECU in, go back to TWICE and "Program Immobilizer". You will have to wait the 270(?) seconds before it will program it.
Then re-marry the radio and all should work just fine.

Kind of sounds to me like chadwick is giving the steps to swap ECU's with a sports sedan, because I have never heard of what he is talking about with a t7 ecu...

Wait a second. I have been assuming you are talking about your viggen. Am I incorrect?

I should probably have looked at the section this was in...

Then go with the steps I said, it should work just fine. Like I said before, I am pretty sure that Chadwick was talking about a sports sedan.

Yes that was for a 9-3SS. All you need to do on T7 is program the immobilizer. Easy.

Oh, you also need to clear DTC's when you're done. Still easy.
