Cool Considering a 900 Turbo....

...and at a good price. But supposedly it has a bad ecu, the poster says "The electronic control module does not work so the car will not start, but everything else works perfectly fine." Now is this true, could it cause the car to not start? And how easy would it be to replace the ecu if it was the issue? Plus I have a N/A c900 that I could pull any parts off of to use or try.

Oh and its a four door, ah i need it! (if the fix is easy/cheap)

Might not be the ECU. The first thing I'd check is the connector to the hall effect sensor on the dizzy.

Turbo sedan FTW!

Seconded, I've only known of one no-start that was due to a bad ECU. If it turns over fine but just doesn't catch, could also be fuel pump - take a listen for it running, they're not quiet.

If it IS ecu, they're reasonably cheap ($100) on ebay and a cinch to install.

That thing is still for sale?

The interior is good. It probably does just need an ecu, but it's rusty in bad places. Also, he's losing second gear. Delorean and I looked at it about 10 days ago and passed. It's a parts car, methinks.

Yea, I guess he's having trouble getting rid of it for those reasons. I was hoping this was gonna be decent and use my current (n/a c900) as the parts car - since its leaking oil like a mofo (and im not mechanically-inclined enough to fix the timing chain cover - or whatever's leaking).

Well then if it's not in that great of shape, someone trying to help me find a decent c900 turbo under $1000-$1500? Or help me become my own mechanic?

Ah, now that I'm not on the Google Phone, it had a decent amount of crunchiness in the passenger-side control arm region. It's kind of a beat beater.
