900S shifter issues

I just got home with no problems and went to put my 92 900S 5 speed in the garage and the shifter flops around, i pushed down and was able to get it in first so I could get it in the garage. I removed the center console and the pulled the shift lever and cant see any issues, anyone have a good starting point?? or probable causes?

Lay across the engine and look down between the engine and bulkhead to see if the shift linkage bushing is torn. You can reach down and grab it, but the easiest way to check is with you looking from above while a friend moves the shift leaver left to right.

I've had them wear out before too.
