Joining the 2 digit club.

So a few weeks ago I looked at these 2 lovely 99s. Offered $400 for the pair, they countered with $900 and we settled at $750. I am taking the 78 99T for $450 and a secret buyer is taking the ITB car for $300. (I think).

Pretty sure these are the 78's controll arms.

Securing misc parts in the 78.

That's Steffan, he comes from the Audi camp. Born in Moritious, lived in Germany most his life.

She's a little crusty.

Bondo needs to be replaced.

Congrats! That Turbo has a pretty clean interior, those seats are almost always trashed.

Love those seats. Somebody posted a really clean set, maybe on the CL thread, recently.

Also, I've never seen a boost gauge like that on the dash. I'm also totally unfamiliar with the ins and outs of this model, but its way cool.

I saw these when you originally posted on S-R. There are a lot of good parts on both of those cars. I'd really like to have one of those front lips for my '78, but after shipping and refinishing, I'd probably just be better off buying a new one.

Didn't know the Amish could use power tools. Or, ya know, cars.

I did grow up with Menonite & amish peoples and have more respect for them than anybody, But I chose the philosophy of Mazdayasna, It suits me better. You Should See Me Till! I'll take pictures of the Tractor on the other side of the 79 that we Split in half yeasterday too.

Ten four, I think when I tow it I may tow it right up to you, we can see what's troubling it. Also wanna snag all those TRX wheels too.

Also the exhaust is going on tomorow, I can't wait. We will add the dp and fancy up the 2nd hole in the bumper when I get the LSD parts.

Yea, Delo says it's a chargecooler. The car is described as having lots of speedparts. But it hasn't run in 10 years or more.

Nice buy, Ben! Brings back serious memories. First and second cars 30 years ago were 99's.

Chargecooler = air-to-water intercooler. Very nice there!

Sweet - John still owes me some wheels too. I was going to just give back his classic tag too since he has not signed it over to me and I really don't need it. Any chance you could remind him about those wheels? I called him a month or two ago and left a msg...

99 Turbo Dash would be sweet also.

So I bought the cars on Thursday. The 78 came with it's original title, Swedish Imports never put it in their name. It was bought by Curtis F on 07/03/78 for $8,702.28.

Alan, who owns the shop is a little peculiar. I removed the wheels and left the car on jack stands since they were all quite flat and rotted. When I asked if I could thro a tech some $$ to remove the tires to make my life easier he said no. They were shampooing the shop and that time was sacred.

The wheels I cleaned up and primed with alu primer, then shot with testors chrome paint. I wanted a little bit more bling than a stock color would give. Pics upon finding my cameras cable.

The box of parts, was pretty neat. I thought I had scored 4 nice intake valves for the turbo, but the part # leads me to believe they are n.a. intake cams. 834688 4347. They do measure 42mm.

In the box was also misc bits, 2 4 speed shift knobs, 1 still in the package, an nos 78 owners manual, wastegate diaphram and gaskets, some green trim washers, misc brake hoses, a pipe, a plug heat shield, some steering bellows, and tons of misc little things.

Plan is this week to get some temp wheels and tires on it and tow it up to Harveys, let him tinker and get it going, then head it to a body shop. Time table is hoping to have it nice for Carlisle, but I'll take what I can. I do have some things to do on the wagon before I really dig too deap into the 99.
