The bing maps shows a mini-van in the driveway.... i'm guessing its way before the current occupants acquired the property....

Yeah, it also shows, down the street, the late, great slip and slide the neighbor ran down a hill next to his house. His niece said it was pretty rad back in the day.

I'm sure it was, the hills are pretty decent in steepness around there.

Well, it runs good! Fixed a fuel leak at the tank, the distributor and some vac leaks, and it started right up! no odd noises, seems to rev up just fine. Also changed the clean oil.

Still need to fix the clutch and the fan. the clutch may just need to be bled.

Paul H shot a few just as we were off loading the truck. The white crap is pine sap, need to get that off of there... Only significant rust is on the hatch, which I have another one of from a 78 99-t in the same color...

On your way back from Ohio did you stop at Potato City? That was a great place for food.*

Ouch! Based on the first picture of the car, I'm guessing that's pine tar all over the side of the car. Yes? if so, brush some GoJo cream hand cleaner on it and let it sit for awhile in the sun. It should come right off. You may get a little residual bump on the paint from the sap effecting it depending on how long it was on there, but it should hardly be noticeable unless you're looking for it.

I had to do my dad's old Opel GT when I first picked it up, and my buddy stopped by with his Comm Ed last week with a couple spots. Worked like a charm in both cases.

Pine tar, and yep. It's all over it. I got this $8.00 spray thing from the walmart, and that actually seems to work. Slowly. but it is coming off, and the paint is very nice under it.

It does have some surface rust here and there - typical 99 old paint related issues. I'm sure they started as little nicks here and there and bubbled with surface rust a bit I'm tempted to do some touch up's to the spots, however the car has a fairly nice "patina" as it is and I don't really want to F with the original paint. I'll get some good detail pics tomorrow.

Also, have it up on the lift now, Solid as a rock.

Are those a direct swap into a 1978?

We were thinking about hosting a BBQ at some point this summer. We should probably get back onto planning something like that...

Those seats should be direct fit. They've been on cl off and on for the past year, not sure if there's been a lack of interest or seller is firm on the price (which is kinda steep IMO)

Oh yeah, there would be no paying full asking price for those. However, I've been looking for an excuse to pop up to Vermont this summer and that's the best one I've come across yet.

No excuse necessary to come to Vt in the summer But if you really need one, I've got those exact seats (front and rear with headrests) in very good condition. I'll probably never fix my 99 and I hate seeing them sit there going to waste

That's cool as shit. I've only ever seen one 99 Turbo in person, and it was in mint condition. I think that one is in FL now.
