When the weather started getting cold (below 40 degrees), the 9-7x has had issue starting and it idles weird. Starting, it is really slow to turn over and occasionally has a loud knock on start up. When it idles, it has this clunking sound that goes in beat with the engine. I also noticed the smell of burning rubber from the engine bay recently after a short ride. I think its a pulley, but the tensioner belt looks fine and the visible pulleys look fine.

as much as I love some saab crossover , Im talking about you 92x ,
your problem is a chevy problem that is a chevy trailblazer with some saab badges , while im not sure if its all chevy , I know for a fact the drive train and pretty much everything else is chevy. the trailblazer is known as one of the most unreliable cars known to man. Ive had two friends own one for a year and then they sold them or traded them in and complained non stop about them while owning.
Im assuming its the straight six and pig on gas. Ive heard the Aero or SS are kinda quick but even worse on gas. I would look into some chevy specialist who know about that drivetrain, not saying people here dont but it seems this is more of turbo charged four cylinder website, but there are some super knowledgeable people on here, so I hope it works out .
good luck with your troubles hopefully it is something small and easily fixable
