Actually, now that you mention it, I don't think I've ever seen one on the road... Probably all the people that voted for Hillary up there in NY bought 'em all up.
I drove the one we have home from Columbus Ohio last week and was VERY suprised with it. Drove 70-80mph all the way for 650 miles. Averaged 20.7 mpg with it. It was very comfortable, handled very well for a suv. (drove to Iowa City in a Ford Exloder) so I could compare the two. I am seriously concidering one with a V-8 to pull my car trailer.
there is one black one in our town. I see it about once every 2 months. It the only one ihave ever seen on the road and this is a town with LOADs of saabs.
Marty, your experience doesn't surprise me at all. I've rented a lot of TrailBlazers in my time, and got similar mileage at similar speeds out of the 4.2
People give the 9-7x a lot of crap, and it does look too much like its GM siblings, but it handles nice and does the job.
Well that and Saab/GM really did a decent job saab'ifying it, vs. what they did to the 9-2x interior. I find it bizarre that people here think the 9-2x interior is nice. The seats are shit. The "leather" is shit. The carpet has the consistency of the green indoor/outdoor carpet you see in old sunrooms. And the paint on the dash scratches if you look at it sideways.
Yeah we have a few of them floating around Yonkers. How did you like the racetrack? I was there once, lost $10 and left. I hope youre not counting the 9-7x's over in Beck across from the racetrack. I work in Yonkers and live in pissing distance to Yonkers (I said it, all Yonkers is good for is to pee on) so next time let me know if you take a trip down here!
I actually went more to get a feel for the casino for work. Supposedly their slots are taking away business from the Connecticut casinos. I'd love to go back for horse racing though, but it looks like I'll be swinging through Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs before I get back to Yonkers. Ah, work.
Ah, Pocono runs at 2 p.m. I'll never understand horse racing.
Its true, alot of the buses that run to Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods, and AC have far less passengers, as people would rather head to Yonkers. There *was* a parking garage at the corner of Central Park Ave and Yonkers Ave, but they tore it down to make room for a hotel (though they dont have any table games...yet) and the buses are insanely crowded from people coming up from the Bronx and such.
Perhaps someone should edit the Wikipedia for Yonkers, NY and state that its home to where all the 9-7s are and link to this thread
I was down in atlanta one time and i was amazed at how many 9-7s were there. I picked the car up from the dealer he said that they mostly sell 9-7s, and when i drove out of the city i think is saw about 10 9-7's and only 2 9-3's. kinda odd i thought compared to what we sell in Iowa.
