9-7x Aero. Wtf?

I was on trollhattansaab.net, saabnet, and the GM website, and all have an article regarding a limited production 9-7x "Aero" model, with a special interior, 20" rims with performance tires, and (dramatic pause) a 6.0 liter V8 putting out 390 horsepower. Does anyone else see this as a rip off of the Trail Blazer SS for an extra $10k on the price tag and a Saab badge on the hood?

Is that for F-ing real? DUB Industries? As if a standard "Saab" 9-7x isn't lame enough, now they want to turn it into a mini-Escalade! I'm at a loss for words...

Myles Kovacs, president and co-founder of DUB Industries. "We wanted to integrate it into a custom vehicle. The 9-7X is a great vehicle to customize. We are very pleased with the outcome, it looks hot!"

It looks hot? Someone needs to shoot this man.

I don't give a shit how fast it is. It's a rebadged Chevy truck, it's not a Saab.

Yeah at least Saab had the sense on the 9-2X to leave some parts with the Subaru logo on them....

You know as lame as it is to rebadge other companies' cars, at least the 9-2x was still somewhat Saab-like or at least the kind of car that Saab should have been building themselves. I think that the Subaru Impreza, with its 4-banger mounted longitudinally ahead of the front wheels is probably the closest thing to a Saab 96 that exists today.

The 9-7x, no way, it's a goddamn truck with a separate frame and a live rear axle, the antithesis of a Saab.

This is a good thing. The lacking of the Ls2 in the 9-7x was one of the biggest let downs of the whole platform sharing. Why give the 9-7x the best of everything and keep away the best engine?

If it comes with a big v8 and the aero-x wheels I think it would get the brand a lot of very needed attention.

Aero X wheels can only be best pulled off by the 9-7x. They wont have the same appeal if shrunk down to 18" and Saab will never put 20's on a sedan. So this is the perfect canvas for them.
