I spoke with someone who bought a 9-2x and a 9-7x, yes extreme Saab poseur.

However, the 9-7x is a beast, but they did a lot to Saab'ify it. It has a damn good interior, the exterior looks fine.

It's a Trailblazer reskinned. If I needed an SUV at a certain price point, I would likely include it in my shopping.

It's probably the most reliable Saab ever built.

Its a better value than the Chevy truck its based off of because the Saab dealers discount them so much.

They are a good value. It is likely best iteration of the platform. I am just mad you cannot get the 400hp Ls2. So I would likely take the TB-SS for its sleeper factor and they often sell for $30k even. If muscle isnt your think the 9-7x is your best bet.

For a truck, my needs would steer me to a suburban, but the 9-7 looks cooler.

x2 An LS2 powered 9-7x would be awesome.

...and there would be one in my driveway.

I put about 3000 miles on my demo last year. I loved it. It handled and drove very nice. My only concern was the gas mileage it averaged only about 17 mpg. If you babied it you could get 20-21 with it. It also had the inline 6 for an engine. Personally I would forgo the sunroof and get the roof mounted DVD player. The mileage on the road is not much differant between the 6 and the V8, I would recomend the V8 as it does have alot more towing possabilities.

i would wait a little bit. they are coming out with a new color, cocoa metallic. also some special edition because it will probably be the last year being made in 2008.
so that means maybe an "aero" model.

i personally wouldn't want an SUV when you can carry as much or more in a 9-5 aero wagon with better gas mileage... but if you need to tow...

Only 17mpg?

My old man as an Escalade ESV (suburban sized one) w/ the 6.0L V8 and we've managed to get 17-18mpg out of that.

atitudes like that are what will make the thing go away We need it in our line up to keep SAABs in the garages. Studies show that 48% of SAAB owners have a foreign SUV in their garage. And of the 48% 15% will get rid of thier SAAB to stay in the same fold as their SUV.
