5spd auto trans compatibility

The transmission in my dad's 03 9-5 linear(5spd auto with paddle shifters) is starting to go out. It's done 120,000 miles, 80,000 miles of that with a td04 and tune.

My question is, will any of the 5 speed auto transmissions go in without computer/wiring changes?

98% sure the answer is yes. Avoid the 2002 model year, they had valve body issues. There were some software changes, but that was all in the TCM which is external.

alright. gonna try a drain/refill/drain/new filter & refill, hopefully that clears up the shifting issues it's been having

I'm sure you know this but the 5-speeds are really sensitive to having the correct fluid.
