Smaller wheels on my '06 Saab 9-5

Thinking of switching from my stock 17" rims (I have two sets for summer and snow tires) to a 16" wheel mostly due to the current harsh ride and road conditions here in southern NH, also tire are much cheaper and since handling at 10/10th's is not happening all that often i like the softer ride of the 16", any issues with this (Such as brake clearance)
thanks SaabLink

Brake clearance would be the issue. I think aero brakes will easily fit under 16 rims though. 16 is the standard wheel as you know, and aero brakes aren't that much bigger than standard setup. I think only once you are upgrading your brakes to even larger diameter rotors are people running into clearance issues, and even then some 16 rims could still fit.

The only ones that wont work are the 5 spoke super aeros that you find on the talledega cars.
