1999 9-5 Project: Manufactured 02/1998
Because my girlfriend is obsessed with white cars, it has been hard to find a replacement Saab for her. White is one of those colors that just didn't sell for some reason. Anyways, we found a 1999 9-5 5spd in CT (surprise, surprise).
It turns out that it is a super early 9-5. The VIN tells us it is the 595th 9-5 in the US. It has all the weird stuff that "1998" 9-5s had: aluminum intake pipe, no sunroof, ashtrays, 5 motor mounts etc.
The overall condition of the car was good. I noticed that it needed a few things and ended up paying $1,500 for the car. Not the best deal I have ever gotten on a Saab, but a decent on at that.
So far I have replaced:
I also changed the upper transmission mount, and I had an old one from my 2000 Aero that I put it. The 2000 mount looks way more beefy:
Annnnnnnnnnnnd, it also has the rear decor panel!
I still need to change the gearbox oil, motor oil and fuel filter. I'll tackle those very soon.
