New member about to buy 2007 9-5

Hi,

I am a new member that is about to pick up a 2007 9-5 for what I believe is a steal. 92k miles for $4800 dollars. Unfortunately the owner lost his job and this being his second car he needs to sell.

But I will give it a good home. This will be my second Saab. I had a 1984 900 Sedan about 15 years ago.

What should be my main concerns with this car? It is spotless and runs great.

Owner said he always ran Mobil One.

No pictures available right now.

Yeah, He priced it to sell. Looks terrific. I have a small Saab dealer about 5 miles from my house where the car was purchased originally.

I called my 1984 Saab "Apollo 13" as it was silver and "had a problem" on a trip. We still laugh about that. I am sure this will be much better. Pick it up Friday will post a pic soon.

check the oil. test drive it and slam the peddle to the floor to make sure it still has full boost. also verify the records showing it has had its oil changed regularly.

honestly pay $50 to the local saab dealer and have them check the car out before buying it. If they guy is honest and it is a good car he will have no trouble with you doing this.

Little things like the green window rollers, coolant bypass valve and DI cassette have been my only issues. It maybe uses key battery's quicker than I think it should but good cars they are. My 07 wagon is at the same miles. MAF sensor was the most recent thing replaced.

Hi I don't mean to thread jack, but i recently bought a 2006 9 5 around 91K now and when i "slam the throttle to the floor" i get ok acceleration, but i also get short bursts of hesitation almost feels like the throttle is closing, and then suddenly opening and then it starts to loose power, i bought a new DIC cassette, and am waiting on some new spark plugs, any other suggestions, if i do no floor it it runs great all the time, and no check engine light is on (well except for a loose gas cap a few times, which i could swear is popping off)

Cat could be clogged. I am having that issue myself. About the same miles too.

Check your Mass Airflow Sensor as well.
