New 9-5 project: 2000 Wagon (Gary Fisher?)

The last 9-5 project that my buddy and I had was a great success, so we had been looking for another.

We just scored a red wagon for him- another sludge victim. His wife will get the other 9-5.

Apparently, the owner prior to the guy we bought it from sold the wheels and other fancy Gary Fisher stuff. That guy must have known that the sludge monster was coming, and dumped it. The poor guy we bought it from only drove it 5 months before meltdown.

Here's the pics:

Yeah, there's something goofy. I'm still trying to figure it out; would appreciate any help... I'm still learning about 9-5's.

pretty sure fisher's only came black and silver, and had the aero exterior package, so body color rockers and lower lip front and rear. iirc they also had the sliding floor in the hatch.

Oops. There was an Autocheck report and paperwork from the PO's insurance company that referred to Gary Fisher.

This confused the seller and we didn't really investigate first. No worries, price was right!

Yeah. GF's are black and tan or silver and black.
I'm sure it's just a low-pressure, which is all the GF's are.
They glam 'em up with Aero options, bike rack/bike, sliding floor, Nivomats, and hot/cool box.

Still, Red Wagons are great! I'm jealous of non-black wagons.
(especially red/white)

Yeah, if you did wanna dress it up with the aero bits, they are easy enough to find (aside from the front lip). Aero'd up red wagon and some proper wheels (even if you keep em black) would look hawt! I'm a huge fan of the older style smoked tail lights too... The 02-05 tail lights are too busy.

We scored two front doors from local junkyard to replace the dented ones.

Missing the parcel shelf and the bezel around the hatch latch; appreciate any leads for those parts!

Then there's these things:

Which will be replaced with these:

Number one piston was in rough shape, rings were kinda melty. Cylinder wall wasn't too bad, so it's just getting a hone. We had some extra stock pistons from the last project, so one will go in.

The turbo is in rough shape: too much play and damage to two fins. Need to find a replacement for that, too.
