Cool Blue smoke from Saab 9.5

I am a new member to the Saab website.
I have a 2001 Saab 9.5 estate with 70,000 miles on it. Car drives beautifully and overall I am delighted with its performance. Car is resident in Portugal and is used every few months for 7-10 days and then garaged until our next visit. My problem is that on the first start up of the day, there is a disturbing puff of blue smoke from the exhaust. This quickly stops, and the car stops and starts thereafter without fault. I have checked the oil use, and car is not burning oil. I have read that turbo seals may be the cause. Can I carry out a simple remedy to repair this, or will it require a major overhaul.

Welcome to the site! It sounds like you have a Garrett GT17 turbo as these tend to start to go around 60k miles. First thing to make sure is that your PCV system has been updates to # 6. This will reduce crankcase pressure and may reduce the oil being pushed past the turbo seals.

in any event just drive the car the turbo can last like that for another 70k miles, but you should have the PCV update regardless, the engine can get damaged without it.
