Auto with a 5 speed ECU

Hey all! I have a 2002 wagon with a (2004+) engine in it and a td04 and I have an oppritunity to pick up an aero ecu out of a 5 speed aero, the question is will this work with my auto? I know I read T5 has both maps but I can not find an answer for T7.

Thanks!
Alex

this^

IIRC putting the 5 speed ECU with the Auto will cause the Auto to not work, and/or the car to not start. it will be looking for sensors and things that arent there.

Auto with a 5 speed ECU

Auto and manual maps are both present in t7. However it won't start until you get it married or have someone program in your VIN and Immobilizer code.

no I do not know what year the ecu will be from, and considering I payed 350 for the car and 100 for the engine its kinda hard to justify a couple hundred for a stock tune.. thanks for the answers though guys!

Get a stage 1 tune then. The car being cheap doesn't make it not worth the tune.

If ima get a tune its going to be after a lot of other things I want to do first (ie 5 speed swap, b234-5, holset ect) I am not saying the car is not worth it, I am saying it is not worth it to me, I would rather focus on my c900 and a couple years down the road when Ive got steady income build a beastly little wagon. Its all dreams for now though.. cept the hybrid 4-5 engie lol got all of that.

find someone who is capable of having the ecu married to your vin/immobilizer and see if you can make a deal...i know there is probably someone out there who would be willing to help with your situation for next to nothing...maybe some beers. just gotta ask around a bit. sure someone would be willing to help a fellow SL'er

for very similar money to what you will probably be paying to get an aero ECU, you can have your original tuned,

also, just because it was a cheap car, doesnt mean that it cant be a great car, Think about it like the money you saved on the car, you now have left over to put back into it to make it awesome.
