Well.... It's broken down on 309 right now. Burnside is on his way with a t body and DI.

haha, that sucks. I only laugh because it seems you have it under control, and this might give you something to use to leverage some new parts from the dealer.

A very similar thing happened when I went down with KChrist in 2006 to pick up his 9000 Aero. Burns had looked at it before, and the day we headed down from ME to pick it up it was bucking on the test drive. With 98k on the original DI, it was a likely culprit. The dealer ended up agreeing to pay half of the "retail" cost of a new DI, which just happened to be Burns' insider price at Beans.

Sllllludge!

Seriously though, if it just dropped dead, I'd suspect DI or the fuel pump. Check to see if the fuel pump runs. If it does not, check for power at the fuel pump. If there is no power, check the fuel pump fuse. If you have a good fuse, and no power, check the crank position sensor output signal.

Fuel pump runs. Burns tried a spare DI, the t body isn't in limp home mode (it's in flatbed home mode), so it could be sludge. It is 7 years old with under 60k on it. Thats a lot of short trips. I think it's still under warranty for that from the factory. If not we have some kinda used car warranty from Diamond warranty company. But Burnside seems to think it's a crank sensor. He gave me the part number and I wrote it on the envelope I dropped the key off in.

yeah from talking with him I agreed with that possibility. Also, I suggested bad grounds, though a car with this age & mileage it's relatively unlikely.

I got the car back today and took it to get tires right from the shop. They must have spilled a 1/4 tank of gas in it when they replaced the fuel pump. I got the gas smell out but damn. Use some plastic next time. Here are some pics.

I think we know that's out of my scope, spgproject. I'm not a mechanic. It needs some seals, the shift linkage aligned, and an inner driver. Coolant doesn't even try to stay in it. As soon as it goes in it pours out. That would be amazing to have them both on the road though.
