Hi
I am at present replacing an engine in my 2001 Saab Griffin, 3lt turbo V6.
The original engine failed. When I pulled off the heads cylinders were full of water, sump full of water, water in exhaust pipe. Has any one come across same problem?

I have bought another engine and about to install, I hope I can remember where all the plugs go.

Yes, I replaced timing belt and one tensioner pulley. Also replaced thermostat, radiator, plugs, radiator hoses and new fan belt.

Make sure you replace the timing belt and related components prior to installation of new motor. They are only good for 60k. If you don't know when it was last done do it now.

I'd put in new seals to the automatic transmission cooler under the intake manifold while you have it apart too.

Did it go through a huge puddle? May have been pulled through the air box if the pipe from the airbox is dislodged. Was it water or coolant?
