Tire Size

this is my 1st question so please advise me on how the forums work.

I have an 2003 Saab 9-5 arc 3.0 can I run 225/55/17 on it without them rubbing

why would you want so much sidewall? You are adding over 20mm, nearly an inch to the sidewall. If you have stock ride height you may get away without rubbing.

My guess is ride quality.

205/55/16 gets you bigger sidewall without an increase in overall diameter. 16" tires are a little cheaper and there are always inexpensive 16" Saab rims for sale on Craigslist, they're less popular. Do a search for "Saab 5x110" or just "5x110".

I have the 225/55/17 on my wife's BMW and I want to put them on my Saab 2003 9-5 the only have 7000 miles on them. I want to get here Run flats but I don't want to waste them. that is why I want to make sure they won't rub
