Tire & wheel fitment on 2001 wagon

After 5 years of being away from SAAB, I picked up a 2001 wagon as a new daily driver. It's a Linear with an Aero turbo, Stage 1 ECU tune, and Aero springs and struts. It definitely gets up and moves, seemingly faster than my last one.

I tried searching but couldn't find the answers... I know people have run 18x8" wheels with 40mm offset, but is this possible on a Wagon with Aero springs? The other question is related to tire size.

Would I be able to fit size 235/45/18 tires on an 18x8" rim with 40mm offset without tons of rubbing? The tire has a 1" larger diameter than the stock 215/55/16s I currently have. Found a GREAT deal on a full set...

It will be fine in the rear. you'll have to roll the fronts.
I run 235/40/18, and the fronts scrapes the crap out of the fender/fender-liner.

Also.. 235/45 is pretty crappy for tire-size. I picture it being a 26# tire on a 28# wheel with tons of sidewall flex/overall crappy handling.

If you're looking to go inexpensive, these are decent:
(I have them on the wagon. I expected little, but was pleasantly surprised)

These would be, too:

Yeah 235/45 on an 18 is going to be a lot of meat and look pretty odd IMO.

The tire size I would go for on 18" wheels would be 225/40/18. It is the closest to stock size.

Yeah I would get rid of the tires on the 18's and get the right size.
