So out of the original 11 people that said they'd dyno, we had 4...hmmm. And of the ones that said they'd just cruise (13) we had 9. Not bad, could be worse. So the numbers:

turborush91 (2000 Viggen): [email protected] hp/[email protected] lb-ft. with just a cone filter
mg_td (2000 Viggen): [email protected] hp/[email protected] lb-ft. with a remus cat-back
stromer (1999 9-3 t25): [email protected] hp/[email protected] lb-ft with mbc at 13 psi, intake, saabsport cat-back, and mp 3" downpipe
telreranreoid (1997 900 SE t25): [email protected] hp/[email protected] with mbc at ~15 psi

So there are some descrepencies here. For the record. rush has had 5 dyno pulls at two differenct places all within 2 hp from 230 so that is legit. As for me and mg_td I want to pull a bad gas excuse. We were both dissapointed. Him more than me, but oh well.

But after that the cruise was great we traveled many roads. Had some near misses with the police. Could have been bad if we didn't get off at the Saco exit when we did. Some back road buring through wells. And various phot opps, one that did end in ignorant cursing by some random man.

There was only one casualty, 9000maptun had some clutch problems and had to drop out early. Lucky for him we were as close to his house as we'd ever be on the route.

Thanks to those that dynoed, and everybody else that came: saabguy, 9000maptun, mixwell, brewtide, stx221, 99saabse, drsquirly, and automaggot. I think I got all those right. Keeping track ov everybodies' forum s/n, real name, and car was awfly hard.

Here are pics for your viewing pleasure:

http://community.webshots.com/album/361160299jGhVTm

And we'll have to do this next year!

Thanks, Seth

where is "here" to view the pictures?

Pretty bad when my 87 9000 with a t3 and 14psi has more/same power at 290,000 miles then a 1997 ng900 Turbo But 170 is still GOOD for a 4 banger! That one Viggen was really on the ball - some good numbers - guess he knows what works

As an aside, I used a 15% driveline loss to calculate out estimated crank hp and lb-ft:

turborush91: 272.9 hp/344 lb-ft (!!!!!)
mg_td: 227.1 hp/287.88 lb-ft
stromer: 223.3 hp/266.7 lb-ft
telreranreoid: 200.1 hp/253.9 lb-ft

so when you look at it like this its not so bad. I gotta say, if rush didn't pull both hisns today exactly the same, and the three he did a month or whatever back, that would be high. But it shows he just has a good strong car. And with 61k that's great news for him. I'm gonna talk to him about his standard maintenance and such

That's pretty good then I want to re-dyno mine anyways since I've done a few things to it.

good pictures stromer, and for any of those wondering, stromer is about 40 years old...

lol, good times day, lots of fun, i don't know about any close run-in's with cops other than that time we were on the highway, and i was like going a hundred, and the kid in the viggen was going like 50, telling everyone to slow down, and i had no where to go, and my brakes are like a virgin on prom night and are so nervous they don't want to do anything but be spongy little non-brakes, so i almost rearend him on the highway, which woulda been bad

but going all fast and furrious with a bunch of saabs on the highway was fun. and the back roads through wells, thanks to whoever was leading that, that was fun.

my pictures are uploading right now, but since my wireless connection is at "low" it's taking about 2 minutes per picture.... and i have a lot of pictures, so this sucks, i'll let you all know and provide the link when they are ready.

Yeah I'm only 18...for the record turborush's g/f was the oldest a 26! So him at 25 and me and a few at 18 puts the span within 8 years. And all the cars were within 9 years I beleive. It was just really interesting to see the demographics.

And out of all the cars there, I don't think anybody had the same kind of wheels, hahaha!!!

Don't let her see that, she'll flip...

Nice shots, I liked the action dyno shots.

oh yeah, the link for the pictures, lol

http://community.webshots.com/album/361234510XszKPR

the pictures of the rims on the dyno that are right after the ones of them spinning, are actually the rims still spinning, i just set the exposure so it'd stop the rim, pretty cool i think.

I kinda just remembered to ask about what happened to DrSquirly. Last I saw him was at Corsetti's. I pulled over to wait for him getting on the highway, but I never saw him and didn't want to get left behind. Did you opt not to come for the cruise since you weren't in the saab? Or did you miss the light and get stuck? I know you were a local, so I wasn't too worried, but I'm still curious.
