Just bought a brand new Saab

I just bought a brand new 2011 Saab 95 Turbo4. It's white and with the parchment interior. I test drove a Mercedes E350 and looked at a Volvo S80 and BMW 535 and for the money the Saab was overall the best value and may have even been the best car. Either way I'm very happy. It's a great upgrade over my 2004 Honda Accord.

Too bad I won't be able to buy another new one .

Thanks,

Matt

If you want

to call me a shameless self promoter then guilty as charged but in actuality I felt like as the new owner of a European auto parts company I couldn't drive a Honda. I gave everybody an equal shot and eventually chose a great car for an absolute steal. Plus honestly the Benz and the Beamer were just too small and I felt like I owe the planet more than to drive a sedan that gets 14 mpg. The new car doesn't have a warranty but if I can't get parts for my own car then we all have a big problem right?

The bad part is I went on my own site looking for brake pads last week and noticed that our coverage for late model Saab is woeful. We're fixing that as I write. Just loaded 200 new air, fuel, and oil filters from Mann last night and we have about 250 new spark plugs, glow plugs, and 100 new O2 sensors from NGK/NTK coming online today.

Also getting new lists of genuine parts for later model cars which we will have up in the coming months. Stay tuned for Monday I have the following emblems in the air right now due to clear customs and be out for delivery on Monday along with a bunch of high priority stock items most of which we will blog about on Monday.

We've been waiting a very long time to hold these in our hands again:
4522884: 85-00 900/9-3 Hood
4911541: 99-00 9-5 Hood

Also: 5289913, 4833638, 5289921, 12769690, 5289897/4910915, 12769689/12844160, 4171856, 6941264, 5289889/4910907

I have my BMW as a second DD. Here in NC, on the coast, I'd probably buy a truck/SUV. I know it's about as opposite as a nice Euro sports car can be, but my commute is very short, and we can drive out on some of the beaches around here... mind you, 4wd is necessary.

tl;dr Had been looking at 2nd gen Nissan Pathfinders for a while, bought a 540i instead.

I'd probably end up in a BMW 3-Series.

Probably a Turbo Subaru or an Audi S4 - if I had to buy new. CTS-V wagon, but I'm not sure I could bring myself to buy a GM car. Nissan GT-R if I had more money than I do and less need for space in the car.

Guess I'm stockpiling c900s as well. But I'd probably look for an older Porsche 911 or maybe a BMW 850i.

You must have deep pockets

If some @55hole wrecked my 99 today, I know I would never find one in similar condition, so I would be forced to think outside the SAAB box (I like c900s but they are too common/troublesome)

I only drive European cars, so, given my very limited budget, I would go looking for one of these:

I would go with a miata, oh sorry I got one of those. truth there is not really a new car that I would want. So I think I would go with a real mini not a BMW or a bus ticket.

if all saabs were to disappear off the face of the earth and there where only images of what the brand once was i would probably begin to build a home build kit version of the car in a full tube chassis build so that my future kids wouldn't have to go their entire lives not knowing what a saab basically was from hearing stories from me....but if i had to find another car to drive it would probably be a stick shift 850 turbo brick.
